CODE OF ETHICS

for

Employees / Subcontractors

 

  1. Regard the well-being of the persons we serve as our primary professional obligation.

 

  1. No individual will be discriminated against in any manner because of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, color, creed, religion, or national affiliation.

 

  1. Keep the best interest of the individual, the preservation and enhancement of their rights and teaching them to help themselves as priorities.

 

  1. No individual will be used, in any unethical manner, to further the interest of the employee.

 

  1. Fulfill obligations and responsibilities with integrity.

 

  1. Provide individuals with maximum opportunity for community inclusion.

 

  1. The rights and views of individuals will be respected at all times.

 

  1. Be aware of your potential influence on individuals and fellow co-workers and conduct yourselves appropriately at all times.

 

  1. Be respectful and helpful when working with other agencies and professionals.

 

  1. Those who have the responsibility of evaluating the performance of other employees will do so with utmost fairness.

 

  1. Anyone witnessing an ethical breach or violation will immediately report the unethical activity to the Supervisor or to the Program Coordinator.

 

  1. Use the resources of RFCSL only for the purposes for which they were intended.

 

  1. Act in a conscientious, diligent and efficient manner.

 

  1. Protect the confidentiality of all professionally acquired information. Disclose such information only when properly authorized or when obligated legally or professionally to do so.

 

  1. Ensure that outside interests do not jeopardize professional judgment, independence, or competence.

 

  1. Work for the creation and maintenance of workplace conditions and policies consistent with the standards of practice set by RFCSL standards.

 

  1. Promote excellence in the social work profession.

 

  1. Effect social change for the overall benefit of humanity.
